About Peter Levine

Dr. Peter A. Levine received his Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley and also holds a PhD in Psychology from International University. He has worked in the field of stress and trauma for over 40 years and is the creator of the Somatic Experiencing method. Peter’s initial contribution to the field of physical psychotherapy was honored in 2010 when he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Association of Body Psychotherapy (USABP). In the same year he also received the honorary chair of Reis Davis in child psychiatry for his innovative contribution to treatment for children and adolescents.

About Peter Levine

Dr. Peter Levine has written a wide range of books on trauma in English.  There has been only one translation in Greek, which is now out of print, however segreece is taking action to republish the existing edition and also to translate further books. Dr. Peter Levine has also videotaped various clips on the subject of trauma and his treatment.
